The notion of activity is at the heart of Tixigo's management. It refers to a business activity that manages one or more events that occur at different times. An activity represents, in its simplest form, a single event or it allows to manage several similar or different events in an endless calendar. Tixigo excels in the management of repetitive business activities, regardless of their frequency.

An activity contains one or more events that are listed in a calendar. There are various models of activities:

  • Occasional events offered once or repeated a few times. Ex. Conferences, shows, Thematic measl (Mother's Day, ...)
  • Single events, offered several times at the same place. Ex. Shows, conferences, ...
  • Single events, offered several times at different locations. Ex. Show tours or conferences, ...
  • Different events offered by a sponsor or organization. Ex. Chamber of commerce, associations, ...
  • SIngle events offered for several days and even several times a day. Ex. Sugar shack meals, tourist activities, ...
  • as well as other possible models

The Tixigo ticket office allows you to manage all these cases under one entity: the activity. So you can combine multiple events under one or decide to separate events into multiple activities. Each activity offers reports that include only one calendar event or all events. A Tixigo advisor can help you make a choice based on your needs.

An activity has its own ticket office that offers 4 different display styles to suit your needs.

Calendar and List of days styles

If your activity involves many identical and therefore repetitive events, then this is the style of choice.

There is the homepage that shows your activity (image, location and information) and gives access to buying tickets and forming a group to buy tickets.

Subsequently, the consumer is directed to a page to select a specific event using a monthly calendar or a list of days. The consumer must indicate the number of tickets he wants which will clearly show the events that have availability for that number - at the time of the search!

The calendar style displays one month at a time and highlights the dates that have availability for the number of tickets chosen. Following the choice of a day in the calendar, the ticket office presents the hours available to choose a specific event. Events available or not will be well identified. Thereafter, you will have to choose the detailed tickets that you want (various categories of tickets can be offered, ex: adult, child, ...) and proceed to the payment.

The list of days style is similar, but instead of presenting a calendar, we present a list of boxes that represent each day an event is offered and has enough room for the number of tickets chosen. Choosing a day will show the available hours. This style is interesting if you have few events and especially if they are very spaced in time, because the presentation of a monthly calendar might not be suitable.

List of tickets style

If your activity involves one or a few identical events then this is the alternative style of choice for calendar and day list styles.

There is the homepage that shows your activity (image, location and information) and gives access to buying tickets and forming a group to buy tickets.

Subsequently, if buying tickets, the consumer is directed directly on the choice of tickets. If there is more than one event available then it will be necessary to choose one from a list (drop-down box which presents the When setting formatted of each event so the date and time or other identification). The availability or not of the tickets will be known only when going to the payment page - once the number of tickets is known.

For a group, one must go through one more step that asks the name of the group, but also the size of the group. The group involves a temporary reservation of tickets so we must make this reservation. The list of events, if more than one is available, is presented in the form of List of days to pick one. After the group organizer goes to the ticket selection page to buy his own tickets.

List of events style

If your activity involves more than one identical event but at different locations or different events then this is the style of choice.

Unlike other styles, each calendar event can have its own settings, images, and colors. Emphasis is put on individual events. Editing an event in the calendar provides additional tabs to adjust the various settings for each event. The activity settings serve as the default settings for each event and are used to present the home page. But as soon as you access the ticket office of an event, the settings of this event are used which allows you to customize the ticket office of each event if necessary.

The home page presents each event with its image and information and a button to buy tickets or form a group. So we're talking about a limited number of events here.

Subsequently, the experience is identical to the Ticket List style, but for a single event, the one chosen in the home page.

What is important to understand is that all events share the settings of the "commercial" activity in which they are located except those on the Customization tab. So the management of taxes, tips,.. are common to all events. The events are found in a single ticket office which allows you to see them all on the homepage. If this does not work, then it is better to have one activity per event and thus have complete control over each one, but for the moment, Tixigo does not allow to present more than one activity at a time to access a ticket office. It would be up to your website to present the various events (activities) and include a button to access their ticket office.
