The implementation of WEB-SRM is mandatory for most establishments selling meals in Quebec.
Tixigo provides a TixiMEV device that records all transactions paid online through its web application. This ensures that the transaction with the customer is recorded in WEB-SRM within a short timeframe, generally less than one minute. This timeframe may be longer if the TixiMEV device is out of order for any reason, but once it is back online, all accumulated orders will be recorded in WEB-SRM.
Tixigo does not support a business model where you do not use the TixiMEV device when WEB-SRM is required for your sales. By law, a transaction must be recorded in WEB-SRM at the time of the transaction or as close as possible to it, and not at the time of the meal. Therefore, entering a transaction at your store's cash register at the time of the meal for a sale made online with Tixigo is generally not legal. Tax rebates are based on the transaction, not the meal. For this reason, Tixigo requires the use of TixiMEV.
Tixigo allows you to manage online sales with Stripe as well as various other payment methods you may have available (check, debit, credit card with your terminal, cash). Currently, only transactions paid online with Stripe will be recorded in WEB-SRM. The MEV-WEB receipt will be issued by email only. Tixigo is working on another version of TixiMEV to support additional payment types and the printing of paper receipts. A separate TixiMEV SRM certification is required for this.
